About the Red Shed

If you are addicted to HGTV and your heart jumps when you spot a “Trash to Treasure” find, you will love the “Cottage Chic” appeal of The Red Shed in Grapevine, Texas. Surrounded by chippy, painted wood furniture, interesting salvaged architecturals, and unique, one of a kind furnishings, Red Shed owners Valarie Jolly and Michele McKechnie have turned a chance meeting and a unique location into the hottest antique venue in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex.

The Red Shed began as a merging of business life and hobby for Jolly and McKechnie who also own Riverside Travel. They had been traveling for years and became avid antique collectors along the way. Scouring flea markets from New York to Paris, collecting and creating shabby style, long before it was chic, they finally decided to sell their treasures from their travel agency storefront.

In 2005, as the antique business began to take on a life of it's own, Jolly and McKechnie knew that more space was needed and identified Grapevine, with it’s quaint downtown, and central location as a perfect locale. They  purchased a historical cottage and shed surrounded by an acre of gardens, arbors and water features. The cottage was perfect for their travel agency and the Red Shed could house their growing collection of antiques.

The Red Shed is a little hard to find on small Church Street just two blocks West of Main in Historical Downtown Grapevine, but everyone who finds it, agrees it was worth the search!  Come be inspired by the multitude of ideas you’ll want to incorporate into your unique style.

The Red Shed is open weekdays from 9 to 5, and Saturdays from 10a to 3p. 4 times a year the real fun begins. Jolly and McKechnie and Gigi Ewbank

create a rambling European style flea market, lovingly called "The French Country Flea Market". The entire décor of the buildings are reworked before each sale into jaw dropping montages. The grounds are decorated in interesting vignettes that are a feast for the eyes and make shopping a joy.

Travel and Antiques have now come full circle as the "Red Shed Girls" now host  yearly group tours of women to shop the Paris Flea Markets in France.
